The upcoming Next-gen Hyundai i20 has been spotted testing once again, and this time the latest spy shots reveal much more than before. Even though SUVs are dominating the Indian market right now, Hyundai clearly doesn’t want to give up on the premium hatchback segment so easily.
The new i20 appears to be getting a major update with fresh styling, new cabin features, and a more premium overall feel. Aur honestly, latest images dekh ke lag raha hai.s Hyundai is baar interior quality par kaafi focus kar raha hai.
Next-Gen Hyundai i20 Cabin Looks More Premium Than Before
Compared to earlier spy shots seen a few months ago, the latest test model carries less camouflage. Because of that, we now get a better look inside the cabin.
The front seats seem to feature leatherette upholstery with subtle ‘i20’ branding embossed into them, giving the hatchback a more premium touch. Hyundai also appears to have added a cleaner centre console layout with an armrest and dual cupholders for extra practicality.
Earlier spy images had already revealed a curved display setup that combines the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. This setup gives the dashboard a much more modern vibe, similar to newer Hyundai models.
Interestingly, the steering wheel design looks inspired by the newer Hyundai Venue, which actually suits the sporty nature of the i20 quite well.

Rear Seat Experience Also Gets Better the Next-Gen Hyundai i20
Hyundai seems to be improving rear passenger comfort, too. The latest spy images show adjustable headrests for all passengers, rear AC vents, and USB charging ports at the back.
Soft-touch materials on the door pads also suggest that Hyundai wants the new i20 to feel more premium than typical hatchbacks in this price range. Small details like circular rear door handles and improved cabin finishing make the car look more upmarket overall.

Exterior Design Stays Sporty Instead Of SUV-Like
One interesting thing is that Hyundai is not fully copying the design style of its SUVs here. Unlike cars like the Hyundai Creta or Venue, the next-gen i20 is expected to continue with traditional single-piece headlamps instead of split headlamp designs.
That’s actually good news for many hatchback fans because the i20 may retain its sporty identity instead of looking like a mini SUV.
The test vehicle also appears to feature larger alloy wheels, although the final India-spec version could get slightly smaller wheels. Connected tail lamps are partially visible under camouflage, while black cladding around the wheel arches adds a slightly aggressive touch.
Engine Setup May Remain Familiar Next-Gen Hyundai i20
Under the hood, Hyundai is expected to continue with the reliable 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Buyers will likely get both manual and automatic gearbox options.
Meanwhile, the more powerful 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine is expected to stay exclusive to the sporty N Line variant. So performance lovers probably won’t be disappointed.
Hyundai Still Believes In Premium Hatchbacks
Even though SUVs are currently dominating sales in India, the i20 still remains an important product for Hyundai, especially in export markets.
The company recently announced plans to expand its portfolio to 30 models by 2030, and the next-generation Hyundai i20 is expected to play an important role in that future strategy.
For buyers who still love stylish hatchbacks with premium interiors and city-friendly driving, the upcoming i20 could turn out to be a very interesting option.
