The Toyota Glanza Facelift is expected to launch in India on October 14, 2026, according to dealer sources, and this time Toyota has more than a cosmetic update planned for its premium hatchback.
The biggest change is sitting under the bonnet. The Glanza is expected to get a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, along with fresh styling and several new features borrowed from the latest Baleno facelift.
The Big October 14 Launch and Why Toyota Glanza facelift Is Moving Fast
The reported October 14 launch date puts the Glanza facelift roughly a month after the updated Maruti Suzuki Baleno arrived in India.
That timing is interesting because the festive buying season will be in full swing. Toyota could be looking to put a refreshed Glanza in showrooms just when Indian buyers start seriously shopping for their Diwali cars.
But remember, Toyota has not officially announced the launch date yet. For now, October 14 comes from dealer sources and multiple automotive reports.
Forget the Old Four-Cylinder — A New Engine Is Coming
This is where things get properly interesting. The current Glanza’s 1.2-litre four-cylinder K12N petrol engine is expected to make way for Maruti Suzuki’s newer 1.2-litre Z12E three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine.
The new motor produces around 83hp and 112Nm in the updated Baleno. It is expected to be paired with a 5-speed manual as well as a 5-speed AMT in the Glanza facelift.
Toyota is also expected to continue offering a CNG version producing around 70hp, paired with a manual gearbox.
For someone driving hundreds of kilometres every month, that CNG option could be a very practical reason to consider the new Glanza.

The Glanza Could Get Some Seriously Useful Tech
Don’t expect the cabin to be completely redesigned. Current reports suggest that the overall dashboard layout will remain broadly familiar, with Toyota focusing more on adding equipment than changing everything inside.
The interesting additions could include Level 2 ADAS, ventilated front seats, a ventilated wireless phone charger and TPMS.
And here’s something buyers should know: a sunroof and digital driver’s display are not expected on the facelift. So if you’re expecting a huge cabin makeover, this isn’t that kind of facelift.
The Face Gets Sharper, But Don’t Expect a New Car
Toyota is expected to give the Glanza a redesigned grille and revised front bumper to separate it from the current model.
However, the changes could remain fairly restrained. Reports suggest the headlamps, alloy wheels and rear bumper may largely carry over from the existing car.
In other words, Toyota appears to be playing the smart game here: update the parts buyers notice most while keeping the basic Glanza formula intact.

What Could the New Glanza Cost?
There is no official facelift price yet.
The current Glanza is priced from Rs 6.73 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom), and reports expect the facelift to command a slight premium because of its new engine and added equipment.
So I would not publish Rs 6.99 lakh–Rs 10.20 lakh as confirmed pricing yet. The final variant-wise prices will only become clear closer to launch.

My Honest Take — Wait for October or Buy Now?
In my opinion, wait if you’re not in a hurry.
The updated Glanza could be a much more interesting buy than the outgoing car, especially with the new engine, expected ADAS, ventilated seats, wireless charging and CNG option.
But if you need a car immediately, the recently updated Maruti Baleno is already on sale, while the Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz remain strong alternatives.
For me, the real question isn’t whether the Glanza facelift is worth waiting for. It is whether Toyota can price it aggressively enough.
If Toyota keeps the premium reasonable, this facelift could turn the Glanza into one of the most interesting premium hatchbacks to consider this festive season.
