सब कार ऑनर ने ये कहा है कि E20 फ्यूल उसे करने के बाद ये प्रॉब्लम आई कार इंजन वाइब्रेशन, खटखट की आवाज, कभी-कभी स्टॉलिंग और ब्रेकडाउन जैसी समस्याएं देखने को मिलीं। लेकिन अब टोयोटा किर्लोस्कर मोटर (TKM) ने अपनी जांच पूरी कर ली है, और कंपनी के निष्कर्षों इस दावे से अलग कहानी बताती हैं।

यह मसला बिहार के एक कंटेंट क्रिएटर से जुड़ा है, जिनकी टोयोटा इनोवा हाईक्रॉस लगभग 12,000 km चल चुकी थी। मालिक का दावा था कि E20 पेट्रोल भरवाने के बाद कार में एक के बाद एक कई प्रॉब्लम आनी शुरू हो गई, इसलिए यह इतना वायरल हो रहा है कि हर कार मालिक को प्रॉब्लम आ रही है E20 पेट्रोल की वजह से।
The reported problems included:
- Engine vibration
- Knocking noises
- Occasional stalling
- Breakdown-like behavior
The owner also claimed that fuel samples indicated abnormal ethanol content and contamination, raising questions about fuel quality.

Toyota’s Official Investigation
After inspecting the vehicle, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said that the Innova Hycross is designed, tested, and officially certified to run on E20 petrol.
More importantly, the company’s technical assessment found:
- No damage to the engine
- No damage to the fuel system
- No fault related to E20 fuel compatibility
According to Toyota, the actual reason behind the issue was non-standard, contaminated fuel, not E20 petrol itself.
How Toyota Fixed the Problem
Toyota followed its standard service procedure to resolve the issue.
The service team:
- Drained the fuel tank completely.
- Cleaned the fuel tank and fuel lines thoroughly.
- Refilled the vehicle with standard-quality E20 petrol.
After completing these steps, Toyota confirmed that the Innova Hycross was operating normally and returned the vehicle to its owner.

Should Innova Hycross Owners Be Worried?
Based on Toyota’s official clarification, there is no confirmed design flaw or engine issue related to E20 fuel in the Innova Hycross.
The company maintains that the vehicle has been engineered specifically for E20 petrol and meets the required certification standards.
The bigger concern is fuel quality. Contaminated or adulterated fuel can create problems such as vibration, knocking, rough running, or poor performance in almost any modern vehicle, regardless of whether it uses E20 or conventional petrol.
The Indian government has also clarified that using approved E20 petrol does not automatically void the manufacturer’s warranty. As more fuel stations supply ethanol-blended petrol, automakers are designing new vehicles to comply with these standards.

Toyota Innova Hycross: In my opinion, this incident highlights the importance of fuel quality rather than creating fear around E20 petrol. Toyota’s investigation clearly states that the engine and fuel system were not damaged by E20 fuel. For Innova Hycross owners, choosing a reliable fuel station is likely to be far more important than worrying about the ethanol blend itself.
